OOTD Engagement Photo Shoot!

I recently received a teaser of our engagement photos from our photography company and I thought it would be a fun idea to do an OOTD on what I wore. I actually didn’t know what to wear. I browsed a little bit on Pinterest. I ended up putting together outfits I already had in my closet which worked out great!!! We did both a dressy and casual look. We chose  Liberty State Park, Jersey City, New Jersey as our venue spot.

For our casual look we did a basketball theme. My fiance is a huge fan of the Chicago Bulls so we chose matching shirts that we had. I paired it with some old skinny jeans and cute comfy shoes.

We are so in love with all of our photos! In about 2 weeks the rest of the engagement photos will be available to download and share with everyone. So stay tuned.

What do you guys prefer when it comes to engagement photo shoots; dressy or casual?

Question Of The Day!

What’s the purpose of an engagement party?

While some may think its an unnecessary way of gaining monetary gifts for your wedding day, others may see it as a way to celebrate two people and two families coming together. If you make it your own, why can’t it be just a fun party? If an engagement party sounds like a wedding- opt for a smaller just family & friends gathering at a relative home rather than a restaurant or hall.

Guests and Gifts:

Your guests may think they need to give you money at your engagement party but that is just an option. They can also give smaller gifts as a way to say their congratulations, For example: Wine, Champagne, or picture frames. Guests can also give gifts toward your wedding day such as, a unity candle for the ceremony, a photo album to keep the memories of the engagement party alive and wedding planning books to help you plan your dream wedding.

Now its your turn to decide what kind of couple you both are and how you want to celebrate each other as one!

Question of the Day!

Did you just get engaged! Now what?

First thing to do when you get engaged is to ENJOY your engagement! Rushing into planning can be very stressful! If you are looking at a year to a year and a half engagement, then take a month or two of enjoying the bliss! If you’re looking to get married faster then here are some tips:

Make a rough draft guest list so you can prepare your budget
Jott down ideas for themes & venues: local, destination, beach, ect..
Think about who you would like to be in your bridal party & invite them to be part of your special day!
If doing a local wedding is your forte then make appointments to visit some venues
