It feels so great to be back on the blog. I left off planning my wedding and as you can see. The wedding has come and gone and now I’m in full duties of wifehood. Looking forward to being a bridesmaid for two weddings this year as well as a guest in two other weddings, so look out for more wedding posts coming your way. Miguel and I will also be visiting our families in Puerto Rico (this October) god willing, for a family destination wedding. Our first ever! So exciting! 2016 made me an aunt to a special little boy, Brendan, and I will soon be an aunt this year as my brother Daniel and his wife Lauren are expecting in April. Did someone say expecting? No! Not me, I have about 5 friends that are going to be mommies this year and I’m super excited for all the baby showers.
In addition to all the wedding updates, I’ll be making some changes on the blog by turning it into a lifestyle blog rather than just weddings and parties. It’s something I’m very passionate about. I hope to create exciting content for you. I’m already mapping out the posts. It will be a simple Tuesday and Thursday deal with once in a blue Fridays! I hope you will continue to take this journey with me where I can voice my passions, likes, loves and interests.
Before I let you go, I just want to wish you all great success and much happiness in 2017. I’ve seen a lot of people speaking out about 2016 being the year of many trials and tribulations, but for me it was such an awesome year. My favorite memory was of course, marrying the love of my life my husband, Miguel. Check out some of our amazing wedding photos above! I’ll see you all next week
Happy Friday bloggers! Budget websites like Groupon, Livingsocial and fashion sites like Asos and Hutelook are growing more and more popular these days. You can get discounts and discounts worth of goods and services for half the prices as regular stores.
Most recently, I received an email from Groupon indicating they now have a wedding section. If you follow our fan page on Facebook we shared this information a while ago, but today I’m going to give you a more intimate look. On groupon you can find tons of deals for photo booths, photographers, invitations, favors and more. Here is a screen shot of some of today’s deals…
The other day my best friend told me that ASOS also now has a wedding section. I think it’s pretty cool because we all know that bridesmaids dresses can cost a pretty penning and more likely than none you’ll never where them again. They also have reasonable wedding guest dresses and accessories for brides.
Since I’ll be going to quite a few weddings this year, I picked my favorite wedding guest dresses from The site:
I love that this dress is a midi and is not short. It bothers me when I see wedding guests dressed like they’re going clubbing.
This dress is perfect for a summer outside wedding, preferably a beach or destination wedding where you can show off your tan in this gorgeous color.
Florals are in! I love everything about this dress from the print to the cut and length.
What are your thoughts on these wedding budget sites?
Now that the weather on the east coast is emerging into spring “AMEN,” I cruised on over to Pinterest for some Spring Wedding Inspirations. I’ve gathered my favorite ones from simple table settings to a smart wedding favor for those chilly nights. As my favorite season of all time, especially wedding season, I am always blown away with how unique and original people are. When you’ve taken the time to really create something your guests will love, people will appreciate the meaning behind every detail. That’s what I’ve come to learn and love about weddings.
Table Settings & Centerpieces:
I’ve always been attracted to simple flowers or even something you can create yourself like a DIY centerpiece.
Bridesmaids dresses & wedding colors:
Every bride has their own vision of what their day will look like. You want to make sure your color scheme flows nicely! Short dresses are more in this time of year.
Thank your guests by giving them something they will make them remember your day. Stick with something useful that your guest won’t consider throwing out later on.
Always thank your bridal party by something that reflects thoughtfulness for having them share in your special day!
Cakes, Cupcakes & Desserts:
Most venues will provide this for you, but if you have the money to create something that reflects your wedding season-have fun with it.
Flowers are so beautiful! How about those sunflowers?! 🙂
Hope these spring inspirations brighten your day! Which photo is your favorite?
Happy Friday! I thought it would be fun and different to incorporate my question of the day into a Bridesmaid Diary! I hope you all enjoy a little change.
I’ve been in quite a few weddings in the past 10 years (this new one will make #6) so I know a thing or two about shopping for bridesmaid dresses. Boy oh boy can it be challenging, especially if you have a large bridal party. The hardest part is getting ALL of your bridesmaids with maybe the exception of the Maid/Matron of Honor to agree on ONE dress! Everyone has different styles and body shapes so what’s a bride to do?
Here are some tips Brides:
*You can pick the dress yourself and tell everyone nicely to get sized 🙂
*You can pick a few dresses that range in different styles but all fit together and have everyone pick their favorite one…. *You can email a bunch of pictures of dresses you like and have everyone rate their favorite to least one- the one with the most positive votes gets chosen…..or…….
*You can arrange a day where everyone gets together to try on some styles and figure out what works and doesn’t work- then you can have a girls day or night with some food & drinks!!! Yum!
Give your honest opinion without being a total diva
Cooperate with the bride-it’s her day by the way
Don’t forget a strapless bra when you try on dresses
Don’t forget your shoes at your fitting
Keep a smile on your face 🙂
